Greetings to all,
Primeplus is knocking on the door of creating New Beginnings for seniors and Veterans throughout Hampton Roads and you can open that door.
We are currently organizing a community garden in our Adult Day Services (ADS), which will involve growing a variety of plants in our designated 50ft x 48ft area behind the Norfolk Fitness & Wellness Center. On December 13, 2019, the fence was put up and we are now one step closer to our goal of designing a Therapeutic Walking Garden. This project has been in the works for several years and we hope that our garden will achieve a balance between safety, security and independence, so that the people with Alzheimer’s and Dementia can participate in outdoor activities for as long as possible. The impact of our project will help develop a close-knit community that enhances the visual appeal and unity of our outdoor space. Our garden will be adapted to fit our age group of 45 and older to include, a fence, planters, hanging baskets, elevated container boxes, raised beds, garden carts and a paved walking labyrinth that will make it easier for seniors in walkers and wheelchairs to navigate the garden.
We are still in need of community support for this project and other senior activities. Your donation, no matter what size, will make a huge difference in our ability to continue providing supreme programs to people 50 and above. Please pass this important opportunity along to a friend, family member or colleague. Thank you for everything you do.
