Caregiver Respite Program

The Adult Day Services (ADS) is a state licensed, Veteran’s Administration approved daycare program for adults over the age of 45 with chronic conditions requiring daily supervision, and our licensed caregiver respite program operates each weekday. This community based service helps maintain the family unit and decreases the need for more costly institutional services. Client diagnosis includes Alzheimer’s, dementia and related disorders, cardiovascular disease, severe depression and many others.

This service helps keep families together and prevents premature placement in nursing homes. Studies prove that mental and physical stimulation drastically improves quality of life for people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Our Adult Day Service offers mind stimulating and physical activities for our participants’ wellbeing. The following is a list of some of the services provided.

Nursing Services that include administration and supervision of medication in compliance with physician’s orders. ADS currently has one RN, one LPN, two CNA’s , one GNA and several Activity Assistants on staff to better serve our participants and handle their individual needs.

Health Maintenance Services including: assessments, hypertension screening, nutrition, weight monitoring, and health education. Out staff is approved to dispense medications as prescribed.

Personal Care assistance and support for other activities of daily living.

Fitness Programs such as exercise, walking, and active games which prevent secondary disabilities resulting from inactivity.

Positive social interaction and mental stimulation: dances, parties, entertainment, and one-on-one discussions.

Individualized Care Plans designed to promote participant’s highest level of independent functioning.

Therapies Offered: physical, occupational and speech by arrangement.

Blood pressure monitor/screenings are completed regularly.

Caregiver Support Group is offered monthly on the 4th Thursday of each month at 1pm.
