Creativity and Health Benefits
Arts and crafts and other creative projects can help alleviate boredom and keep seniors’ minds busy, and may even help prevent feelings of depression. Furthermore, arts and crafts help with hand-eye coordination, cognitive abilities, and concentration.
Many seniors shy away from creative activities because they feel as though they are not creative enough or are not artistic; however, even artistic novices can be creative with the right kinds of projects.
Primeplus offers a wide variety of arts classes. Whether you prefer paint, sewing, woodworking or pottery – we’ve got something for you. Please take a few minutes to look over the calendar of events and find a class that sounds good to you. Keep in mind – all levels are welcome in these classes. The goal is to get creative and to create a social bond with your peers that will have lasting health benefits.
In addition to the arts and crafts classes you can enjoy our fully appointed wood shop. The Wood Shop is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a monthly fee associated with use of the shop that helps cover costs. Come over and see it first hand!
