FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Women “Pass Judgment” for the Men Who Cook
Hampton Roads premiere amateur chef competition is heating up this spring
(NORFOLK, VA) – Primeplus Norfolk Senior Center’s sixth annual Men Who Cook: Hampton Roads premiere amateur chef competition is sure to dish up fun on Saturday, April 18 from 6pm – 11pm at the Wyndham Garden Norfolk Downtown, 700 Monticello Ave., Norfolk.
“It is a food-filled evening with 25 two-man teams of local amateur chefs competing against each other for the title of Top Chef. The food presentations are diverse, imaginative–and rival many of the area’s top professionals,” says Primeplus Norfolk Senior Center Executive Director Lynne Berg. “Our all female panel of judges will determine winners in multiple categories such as People’s Choice, Most Likely to Cook in My Own Kitchen and Tantalizing Taste Bud.”
While guests taste the chefs’ delectable creations, Livas & Co will entertain by providing some of the area’s best jazz entertainment for your dining and dancing pleasure.
“’Men Who Cook’ was created as one solution to meet our fiscal challenges as we work to help older adults age successfully and enjoy a good quality of life. Proceeds from this event help to provide wellness programming and support for our Nutrition Program which serves over 1,300 hot, home cooked meals for seniors each month, “says Berg.
Tickets are $50 in advance, $55 at the door, and $180 for a four pack. Last year’s event was completely sold out. Tickets also include valet parking and an adult beverage on us.
